Bebé
"A trans woman faces the consequences of a long night."
SCROLL
THE STORY

Bebé wakes up on a Bogotá street.
She was robbed during the night — her money, her dignity, her sense of safety gone before dawn.
When another trans woman offers to help her, Bebé turns on her with accusation and rage.
The encounter reveals something about her we can't yet name.
She makes it home.
Her baby is crying — left alone through the entire night. The landlord is at the door, threatening to call the police.
The walls are closing in.
Bebé is a film about a woman at the end of her options — and what she does when there are none left.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
I. It began as something small—an idea to shoot a short film on our phones.
Christian wanted to show what he could do as an actor, and I had just finished a directing workshop in Cuba.
I was eager to prove myself.
So I wrote something fearless, something raw—and Christian embraced the challenge of playing a trans woman with a child.
What started as a scrappy idea quickly grew.
A full crew came together.
People believed in it.
They gave Bebé a shape and a soul I never imagined.
The result was something beautiful.
Everyone who saw it connected with it.
It even had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.
I wish I had photos of that moment.
I did fly to Cannes.
But most of my time was spent alone in a hotel room, heartbroken—because Christian and I had broken up right after the film was completed.
Some people enter your life for a reason.
Christian was meant to be my Bebé—forever.
A year later, I dropped out of university and moved to Chicago.
I didn’t know what was next, but I knew Bebé had changed something in me.
It showed me what I was capable of—how far a story could go when it came from the heart.
